Event Details

Before there was Harlem... there was U Street.  Washington's "Black Broadway" - where Duke Ellington grew up and was inspired, where musical greats such as Cab Calloway and Dizzy Gillespie played local clubs into the wee hours of the morning, and where movie palaces mingled with pool halls, restaurants and barber shops. Here in the shadow of Howard University, African Americans created a strong community that produced leaders for the city and the nation.

You are cordially invited to a Warm Spirit celebration like no other!!  Here in the MD/DC/VA market, you'll be able to join us on Sunday, July 30th from 6:00-8:00PM for networking (come out and meet the Executives and Emerald Managers who are 'regulars' in the Corporation's Corner Stone Club), we'll have a business opportunity meeting and quick start training.  We'll end the evening with a champagne/sparking water toast to celebrate our BLACK ENTERPRISE Emerging Business of the Year Award and to kick off the week of Conference 2006!

Oh.... and did I mention, the location, Lettie Gooch boutique (www.lettiegooch.com), between U and T Streets was an ORIGINAL Madam CJ Walker Beauty School!!!!  You will enjoy the atmosphere of this historical building, in this historical location in the nation as we celebrate our making HISTORY!!!

(And don't forget to SHOP!! Are you still looking for something to wear to Conference?  Lettie Gooch has unique clothing & accessories!!  Still looking for your pair of "Beyonce jeans"?  L.G. has them!!!)

Get Ready!!!

"I am a woman who came from the cotton fields of the South. From there I was promoted to the washtub. From there I was promoted to the cook kitchen. And from there I promoted myself into the business of manufacturing hair goods and preparations....I have built my own factory on my own ground"
